Bulldogs and Nomads men chasing first win

ROUND 2 PREVIEW: The men’s teams from both Gunnedah and the New England Nomads will be keen to reverse the results they recorded in last week’s opening round.

The pair meet at Wolseley Park on Saturday with Gunnedah coming off a 38-point loss to the Tamworth Kangaroos and the Nomads looking to bounce back from their 35 point loss to Inverell.

Playing at home, the Poochettes will be favoured to win the women’s match although with studies starting up again at the University of New England this week, the Nomads are sure to be a stronger outfit than the one that played last weekend.

The other matches on Saturday will see a Tamworth local derby between the Swans and Kangaroos.

After having the bye in the opening round, this will be the first match of the season for the Tamworth Swans.

Awaiting them at the No.1 Oval will be a Kangaroos team whose men won their first round encounter against Gunnedah and whose women put up an encouraging performance against the Poochettes.
