New umpires essential for AFL North West’s 2021 season

As the AFL North West competition continues to expand each year, there has been an increased demand for umpires across all age groups and grades.

Umpiring is a tax free, paid role that provides individuals with the scope to earn extra money every weekend for each match officiated.

If you love footy, you’ll love being an umpire. Not only do you get the best view of the action, you also get paid for the privilege. Keep fit, be part of a team, and learn leadership skills for both on and off the field.

Whether you’re a teenager looking to earn money, or are retired from playing footy but want to stay involved and keep fit, then umpiring is the option for you!

People interested in taking up umpiring need to complete an online Laws of the Game course, then can access coaching that is delivered within the region.

Umpiring is a great way for players to learn the rules of the game which helps greatly with their own development as players.

An introduction to umpiring and further information will be conducted as part of the AFL North West Education Roadshow. This session will be held on Saturday 13 March 2021.
