All the action at the top end of ladder
ROUND 4 PREVIEW: Community Umpiring Round will see both the New England Nomads and Tamworth Kangaroos men trying to ensconce themselves in the upper echelon of the AFL North West ladder.
It will be the first road trip of the season for the Kangaroos and they’ll be facing a reigning premier that is showing some signs of hitting their straps.
The Kangaroos though only need to look to Matthew Hall for inspiration as their captain has started the season in outstanding form.
In the women’s match, the Nomads will be underdogs but the New England girls have shown rapid improvement with each match.
Now that the home team has shown an ability to pressure the opposition, if they can start connecting a few possession chains on Saturday the Kangaroos will need to be somewhere near their best to ensure victory.
After three rounds, Inverell is the only club that is undefeated in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
The Saints make the first of two consecutive trips to Tamworth on Saturday to face the Swans.
Last year in the Preliminary Final the Swans women lost to the Saints by just four points.
Both the Saints and Swans women recorded impressive victories last week which bodes well for another gripping contest taking place between the pair this weekend.
Inverell’s men will be in for a battle against a Swans team that pushed reigning premier the New England Nomads all the way last week.
The Saints will be keen to maintain their place at the top of the ladder.
