Coaching sessions are being run by our new AFL North West Educator – Richard Nicholl. Richard is a level 2 AFL Coach with extensive coaching experience in Sydney with senior and junior grades.
Umpire Sessions are being run by Brent Trewin and Graham Brown (AFL North West Umpire Coordinator). Brent is a AFL NSW/ACT umpire coach travelling up for Sydney for the day. It is essential for club umpire to be upskilled so they can be accredited and confidently and effectively umpire games in the North West. The bylaws are clear, No accredited umpire = no game. There is a desperate shortage of umpires in our league and this is one way to help fill the gaps and bolster numbers.
Club accredited club umpires will be paid for the games they officiate (but at a lesser rate than registered umpires). If any potential umpire wish to become registered then this is also a part of their pathway.
Other topics for the day: Talent Pathways, Respect & Valuing People, Bylaw updates, Youth Girls Footy, Footy Web / Sports TG, Outside the Locker Room – Mental Health, and Volunteers.
