AFL NSW/ACT is excited to announce the appointment of the new Young Leader for the Northern NSW region, Tane Skinner.

Tane, who turns 18 next month, will start in the full-time role in January and will be working with Matt Crawley, Gabrielle Boyle and Brad Greenshields to run school programs, inter-schools’ competitions and Come & Try sessions throughout the region as well as competition management, updating fixtures, B&F votes and ladder changes.

Tane comes to the Northern NSW team as a Sports Ready Trainee and will be completing a Certificate III in Business.

Having recently finished his schooling at Coffs Harbour Senior School, Tane has played all of his footy with Sawtell/Toormina since starting in Auskick and this year was a member of the Saints’ Under-18 premiership winning team. He has also been a regular member of AFL North Coast representative teams and been a part of the Northern Heat Development Program.

The Hawthorn supporter has also been an umpire in the junior ranks for a number of years and has a passion for becoming involved in the sports industry, particularly coaching young athletes to become their best and looks forward to getting more young athletes involved in footy.
