Senior fixture for 2024 released
THE fixture for the 2024 AFL North West senior competition has been finalised and it’s now little more than eight weeks until the season begins.
When the first bounce of the season takes place on April 27, the AFL North West will have five clubs fielding both a men’s and women’s team.
AFL Northern NSW Community Football & Competition Manager Brad Greenshields said the 2024 season promises to be a great one for both the men’s and women’s competitions.
“The standard of football played in the AFL North West has improved each year and it will again in 2024,” Greenshields said.
“With this in mind I’m sure the five clubs playing both mens and womens in the senior competition this year are going to produce a memorable season.”
Other highlights of the upcoming 2024 season are:
- The season starts with an Anzac Round on April 27. The Swans and Kangaroos will be playing a local derby on this day;
- Indigenous Rounds being played across Rounds 4 & 5;
- Pride Round being played in Round 9 on June 29;
- A replay of the men’s Grand Final between Inverell and the Tamworth Swans will be played in Round 3 while a replay of the women’s grand final between the Saints and Gunnedah will be played on the a fortnight ago.
Last year’s finals series was one of the closest on record and it has set the tone for what promises to be a thrilling and competitive 2024 season.
The 2024 fixture has been loaded into PlayHQ and can be found under the Fixtures & Results tab in the Menu of the AFL North West’s website.
