Saturday is Grand Final rematch day

ROUND 3 PREVIEW: Two grades, two Grand Final rematches, two chances for the vanquished to exact some revenge.

The women’s match at Inverell on Saturday and the men’s match at Armidale will pit the teams who played out a pair of classic Grand Finals almost eight months ago against each other.

Gunnedah has the long road trip to Inverell but will be keen to reverse the 1-point result in last year’s season decider.

As the season is new it’s hard to get a form reference for teams but the Saints and Poochettes have recorded a comfortable victory over the New England Nomads each in the opening two rounds. This points to another close encounter between these two benchmark setting teams.

The Nomads men are the reigning premier but will need to be on their toes against the Tamworth Swans.

The Swans are thrilled with their first win of the season earned last week while the Nomads bounced back last week at Gunnedah after losing their opening match of the season to the Saints.
