Regional Australia Bank supporting the Blue Heelers
REGIONAL Australia Bank is proud to announce its partnership with AFL North West NSW, supporting the North West Blue Heelers representative program.
This collaboration reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong, connected communities and creating opportunities for individuals and families across regional New South Wales.
Through this partnership, Regional Australia Bank will help support the representative program, which offers athletes from towns such as Armidale, Tamworth, Moree, Glen Innes, Gunnedah, Narrabri and Inverell the chance to compete at higher levels of the sport.
Community Football and Competition Manager for AFL Northern NSW, Brad Greenshields said thanks to Regional Australia Bank’s support, representative footy for the Blue Heelers can go ahead in 2025 for both the men and women.
“In the case of the men, this is the first time the North West’s best players will get to play against another League since before the Covid pandemic,” Greenshields said.
“This support also allows us to continue building strong programs that benefit athletes, families, and our wider communities. It’s partnerships like this that ensure AFL remains a vital part of life in regional NSW.”
By backing the Representative Program, Regional Australia Bank isn’t just supporting a game—it’s investing in the future of regional communities.
David Heine, CEO of Regional Australia Bank, said from the players on the field to the families in the stands, this partnership reinforces the bank’s dedication to ensuring regional Australians have the opportunities and resources to succeed
“At Regional Australia Bank, we’re committed to more than banking. We’re committed to being part of the fabric of regional life, helping our communities flourish. This partnership with AFL North West NSW is an important step in making that happen, Heine said.
With more than 430 players currently involved in AFL North West NSW, the program plays a significant role in building confidence and teamwork while promoting the values of sportsmanship and community.
“Regional Australians deserve access to opportunities that not only showcase their talent but also strengthen the bonds that keep their communities thriving,” Heaine added.
“Supporting the North West Blue Heelers is one way we can contribute to regional growth and ensure our shared values of connection, resilience and inclusion remain strong.”
For decades, AFL has been an integral part of regional New South Wales, bringing together families, friends, and players through their shared love of the game. The representative program offers pathways for players, from juniors to adults, to experience competitive football at its best while uniting communities at matches and events.
