Gordon Barry & Co/CRT helping the Blue Heelers

VOLUNTEERING much of her time to assist with the running of the Gunnedah Juniors inspired Gordon Barry & Co owner and manager and Bec Tunbridge to sponsor the Blue Heelers representative program.
“Having watched our juniors grow in numbers and seeing an introduction of a successful regional junior competition, all in the matter of two seasons, it is apparent that AFL has a place here in North West NSW,” Tunbridge said.
“Being able to support an organisation such as AFL North West NSW is an exciting space to be part of. Hopefully in the years to come, we will see plenty of the North West juniors moving through the ranks and becoming involved in representative footy.”
Gordon Barry & Co Pty Ltd has been servicing the Gunnedah district for over 70 years.
When the Blue Heelers run on to the field this year, in return for the generous sponsorship the players will be displaying the Gordon Barry & Co / CRT logos on the front of the playing shorts.
CRT is the independent wing of Nutrien Ag Solutions. CRT members own and operate their stores as they wish, with the benefits of being under the Nutrien banner. Gordon Barry & Co Pty Ltd has been a proud member of CRT, Australia’s largest group of independent rural retailers, for 24 years providing clients with products ranging from fertiliser, chemicals, pumps and poly pipe to cattle crushes and fencing.
Tunbridge said supporting the local footy community that she’s a part of was an easy decision as she can see similarities between her business and AFL North West NSW which made the two compatible parties to form a partnership.
“Having a strong commitment to our community is a huge part of our culture. Being able to support areas of growth and development that make a difference in our community, resonates with us,” she said.
“Giving back and providing opportunities, in particular for younger generations, is rewarding. It allows them to explore and have the same opportunities as their city and coastal counterparts.”
