Finals, the pointy end of the season is here

The result of this Saturday's semi final between Gunnedah and the Tamworth Swans will decide the venue for the AFL North West grand final to be played on August 26.

AFTER 15 rounds of Home & Away matches the finalists in both the women’s and men’s competition have been decided.

In a first for the AFL North West, the finals venues have been decided based upon the finishing order of the women’s competition.

Gunnedah earned hosting rights for one of the semi finals courtesy of its minor premiership win.

The Poochettes will now play the Tamworth Swans on Saturday in a contest that will decide whether the grand finals on Saturday, August 26 will be played at either Wolseley Oval in Gunnedah or Tamworth’s No.1 Oval.

By finishing in third position, Inverell will host the other semi final this Saturday.

Due to their rugby league co-tenant already having Varley Oval booked, the Saints will be hosting their matches at the Inverell Sports Complex.
