The first week of the AFL North West finals is upon us and Saturday brings a footy extravaganza at Tamworth No.1 Oval.

Hosting rights for the first week of the finals this year go to the teams that finished in first and third positions on the men’s ladder. These positions were filled by minor premier Tamworth Swans and their co-tenant the Tamworth Kangaroos.

With both clubs using Tamworth No.1, this Saturday will see four top class matches played at the venue.

The winners of the 2nd Semi Finals will progress straight through to the Grand Finals to be played on September 10.

The Men’s 2nd Semi Final has some added incentive as the winner of the match between the Swans and Inverell will earn hosting rights on Grand Final Day for their club.

The losers of the 1st Semi Final will see their season come to an end and planning begin for the 2023 season.

The action this Saturday starts at 10.30am and finishes with a cut-throat semi final being played under lights.
