IT wasn’t until the final votes of the count were read out before Anna George from the Tamworth Swans could be declared the winer of the AFL North West’s Women’s Best & Fairest award.

George was locked in a battle for the prize with Gunnedah pair Lexi Walker and Laura Ewington.

All three were tied at the top on 13 votes each entering the final round. Just as it looked like being the first three-way tie in the history of the award, George polled three votes in the Swans’ final Home & Away match against Inverell.

As George doesn’t turn 17 until this Sunday, she also walked away with the Rising Star Award.

Inverell’s Katrina Doak won the Leading Goalkicker prize for the second year in a row while Ewington didn’t finish the night empty handed after she was named as the Coaches Award winner for 2025.
