Blue Heelers boys gain valuable experience in Coffs
THE squad of Under 13 Boys who travelled to Coffs Harbour to represent the AFL North West took plenty away from the three-day carnival.
The Blue Heelers were unable to win a match in the representative carnival that saw them play against teams representing the South Coast, North Coast, Hunter Country, Central Coast and Hunter Metro but showed improvement each time they took to the field.
Led by coaches Matt Pine and Alan Martin with help from team manager Alison Oxley, the boys exemplified the Blue Heeler spirit by continually working hard in each contest and never giving in.
By the midway point of the carnival the ball was starting to spend a lot more time inside the North West attacking half of the ground.
In the final match the boys were finally rewarded for their hard work with Cooper Robinson kicking a goal which brought a tremendous cheer from the team officials and parents who were there supporting their sons.
The boys weren’t the only AFL North West NSW players to enjoy the competition available in Coffs Harbour. A pair of Gunnedah girls in Macey Carlyon and Lyla Gault played in a North Coast Force girls team – Lyla in the Under 13s and Macey in the Under 17s.

The team was also bolstered by the addition of four players from the AFL North Coast – Braxton Adams, Arbie Britton, Mac Jarvis (Sawtell/Toormina) and Lewis Campbell (Nambucca Valley).
