Alice to make AFLW debut

FORMER Gunnedah player Alice Mitchell is set to realise her AFLW dream on Sunday.

Mitchell has been named by the Sydney Swans to make her AFLW debut in Sunday’s local derby against the GWS Giants at North Sydney Oval.

The 22 year-old was set to make her debut 12 months ago but unfortunately sustained an ACL injury during the pre-season.

Mitchell is one of four players who will be making their AFLW debut with the Swans on Sunday and coach Scott Gowans is thrilled for Mitchell.

“Alice Mitchell – what a story. She is coming back from an ACL injury and she is an exciting prospect,” Gowans said.
