Gillies Medal honour for Fisher

MIDFIELDER Nick Fisher has continued a tremendous run of Tony Gillies Medal victories for the Tamworth Swans.

Fisher polled 19 votes for the season to record a fifth Gillies Medal win in seven seasons for the Swans.

Victory was assured for Fisher in the second last round when he polled a vote to take an unassailable six vote lead ahead of Gunnedah’s Darcy Hill.

Hill didn’t finish the season empty handed. He won the 2024 Coaches Award.

Jed Carroll polled a hat-trick of three vote games late in the season to become not only minor premier Inverell’s leading vote getter but also move up to third place in the count.

Inverell had five players finish in the Top-10 of the count including Cooper Taveira who won the Rising Star Award for a second straight year.

The Tamworth Swans also had another player claim a major prize with playing coach Lachlan Bennetts-Inkster winning the Gerry Griffith Medal for being the leading goal kicker.
