Swans are flying high

THE Tamworth Swans are soaring at the top of the men’s ladder and now have a very healthy percentage.

The Swans travelled to Narrabri and walked away with the biggest win of the season after kicking 35 goals with 13 players getting their name on the goal kicking list.

Not that the home team didn’t have their opportunities to kick some goals. The Suns/Eagles had 10 scoring shots in total but unfortunately was only able to convert one of those into a major.

The Kangaroos also recorded a big win with the young trio of Jack Dadd, Bill Tydd and James Vallender combining to kick 18 goals between them.

The closest match of the weekend was at Bellevue Oval where the New England Nomads secured an important 20 point win over Inverell.

The Nomads set up the in the second quarter when they kicked six goals to Inverell’s two to open up a 37 point lead.

The Saints clawed their way back in the second half but were unable to get within reach of their southern neighbour.

The women’s competition also had a couple of large margins recorded on the weekend.

Inverell’s had a big win over the Nomads while Gunnedah remains undefeated after its win over the Kangaroos.
