Busy transfer period ahead of start of season
THERE will be a lot of new faces in the AFL North West NSW community when the season starts this Saturday.
Since the transfer period opened on February 1, there have been 45 players either coming into the AFL North West or leaving for another club.
The New England Nomads have been particularly busy over the summer months recruiting a number newcomers to the Armidale region. There have been six players in both the mens and womens teams sign on to play with the Nomads in their return to the senior scene in 2025.
The Tamworth Kangaroos mens team will have a totally new look about it this year thanks to nine players transferring into the club. One of thise nine is 2023 Tony Gillies Medal winner Matthew Hall who is returning to the club after spending 2024 playing with Killarney Vale.
